The Vodka and Sprite Cocktail Recipe I’m Making Over and Over This Fall
I first tried this drink at my cousin’s house for Thanksgiving and now, each time I drink it, I’m immediately reminded of the cool, crisp air of fall. After a full day of cooking, my cousin had gone to the store and purchased mixers for cocktails to help us prepare for dinner–as an apéritif.
She kept it simple–Vodka and Sprite over ice. A few fall-friendly garnishes (cranberries and a thyme sprig). It was just a sophisticated, clean cocktail.
The best thing, is you can easily tailor this drink–if you like it boozy, you can use less Sprite. If you’re a lightweight like me, can pour more Sprite. And of course, you can always serve Vodka and Sprite as a mixed shot.
I’m celebrating autumn by sipping on this delicious Vodka and Sprite drink. It’s a refreshingly easy fall cocktail recipe ready in just 1 minute! This couldn’t be simpler.
Cheers!

What is a Vodka and Sprite?
The Vodka and Sprite is a 2-ingredient drink that is usually 1 part vodka to 4 parts of Sprite–depending on how strong you like your drink. It is garnished with festive fall cranberries and a sprig of thyme. I like add extra lime for a little bit more flavor.
The Vodka and Sprite ratio
Vodka has a subtle flavor, so you’ll taste more of the Sprite than the alcohol. Here’s the right vodka to Sprite ratio:
- 1 oz vodka to 4 oz Sprite OR
- 1 part vodka to 4 parts Sprite
Tip: Add lime for complexity!
As you know I LOVE limes, so when I make this drink I add extra.
For the BEST vodka and Sprite, I recommend muddling 2 lime wedges in the glass first. The drink begs for the brightness from lime to cut the Sprite’s sweetness! You can also use lemon, if that’s all you have.
❤️ Why I love this recipe!
- Festive fall garnishes! Cranberries and a sprig of thyme definitely make the list of my favorite autumn cocktail garnishes!
- Easy To Make! Simply combine the ingredients, pour, and enjoy in just 1 minute!
- Smooth! You won’t find any strong alcohol flavor in this vodka cocktail–it’s almost completely hidden by Sprite’s lemon-lime soda taste!
- Large Batch! Depending on the size of my pitcher, I can easily scale it to yield more servings!
If you know me, you know that I love easy vodka cocktails. Vodka and Sprite tastes like pure happiness even with Sprite Zero.
Ingredient notes
This Vodka and Sprite recipe comes together as easily as it goes down! Making a second or even third batch is a breeze! To make this cocktail, you’ll need:
- Vodka – I like Absolut vodka–no need for expensive liquor in my cocktails! I’ve also tried Sprite with Smirnoff. Use any vodka brand you really like.
- Sprite – Bubbly, lemon-lime sweetness. I use diet Sprite or Sprite Zero.
- Ice – Keeps my cocktail perfectly chilled!
- Garnish – So easy, just add fresh cranberries and a sprig of thyme. Slice up fresh lime wedges to muddle.
Equipment needed
- Highball Glass: A highball is a tall, skinny glass.
- Bar Spoon: The long handle on bar spoons makes it really easy to stir and not make a mess.
- OXO Angled Jiggers: My go-to measuring tools for cocktails.
- Ice Cube Tray: You’ll need plenty of ice on hand to fill up your highball glass.
🧊 Best served cold
The key to a good Vodka and Sprite cocktail is to serve it cold. There are a few things I do to accomplish that, starting with storing my vodka in the freezer. Because of the alcohol content, vodka won’t freeze.
Other ways I make my Vodka and Sprite cocktail cold:
- I mix the cold ingredients with ice cubes. This will dilute the drink slightly as the ice melts in the glass, but will keep it cold.
- I serve it in a chilled glass. See more below.
Chilling your glass quickly
To chill my glass fast, I fill it with ice and cold water–and let it sit for a minute while I gather ingredients and mix my drink.
I toss out the ice and water before pouring into the chilled glass and enjoy a drink that stays colder longer.
When to serve Vodka and Sprite
